What is climate fiction?

“Cli-fi “or simply abbreviated as “Climate fiction”  is a distinct genre of literature that focuses on stories about climate change and its effects on people and the environment. Emerging as a fairly different genre in the early 21st century, climate fiction covers aspects of both science fiction, dystopian themes and  exploring the environmental, social, and political consequences of a changing climate. Cli-fi uses fiction to introduces us to the prevalent environmental conditions and its possible outcomes on future life. These stories often depicts how humans, animals, and nature struggle to survive in a changing world. Through these imaginative stories, cli-fi makes people aware about the possible consequences of global warming and encourages them to think about solutions.
